CEMENT 2026
"Katarzyna Kata Adamek created a series of objects made
from felted wool in shades of white and grey, placing them within the
raw, industrial space of the Cementownia Odra cement factory in Opole.
This seemingly contrasting juxtaposition of natural fibre and concrete
architecture proved surprisingly harmonious, opening up a space for
reflection on humanity’s growing estrangement from the natural
materiality of the world. The artist’s body of work can be seen as an
attempt to tell a broader story about the lost relationship between
human beings and matter itself. The temporary
installation of the felt objects at Cementownia Odra was far more than
the placement of artworks within a striking industrial setting. It
became a meeting of two different ways of building the world".
